Surface Prep Technician

About the role

Surface Experts is a national franchise growing our local team. We aim to develop outstanding teams by investing in strong relationships and solving customers’ problems by reducing waste of time, money, and materials through surface repair as an alternative to replacement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces through sanding, masking, and priming procedures, ensuring smooth and flawless surfaces.
• Use tools to perform necessary repairs following a defined process for surface primer, filler material, sandpaper grit, masking tape, etc.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.
• Perform tasks such as masking and taping protected areas, cleaning surfaces, applying and scraping paint stripper, using DA sanders, and sanding by hand.
• Help clean up around the shop, procure and stock inventory, and assist in other areas as needed.

Requirements

• Experience working with your hands, such as in construction, manufacturing, or a hobby.
• Experience in facilities maintenance is helpful.
• Surface prep experience is a plus but not required.
• Automotive prep and painting experience is a plus.
• Ability to make at least a 2-year commitment due to extensive training.
