Surety Underwriting Specialist (Seattle WA, Lonetree, CO or Alpharetta, GA)

About the role

The Surety Underwriting Specialist will independently underwrite and market assigned products, providing high levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and participates in marketing activities for business development and relationship building
• Participates in the producer management process, including premium collections
• Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts, negotiating terms and conditions
• Conducts analysis and applies appropriate underwriting techniques to evaluate risk acceptability
• Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits
• Maintains and updates underwriting files

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Minimum 5 years’ related Surety Underwriting experience within P&C Commercial Insurance
• AFSB Designation preferred

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
