Summary
Supervises the operations of a defined laboratory section. Establishes policies, procedures, and protocols for testing performed in a defined laboratory section. Oversees quality control testing and instrument maintenance. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols. Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints. Serves as a consultant to laboratory staff as well as other members of the healthcare team as needed. Acts as manager in their absence.
Responsibilities

- Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.

- Affords direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
- Required Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/subspecialty as applicable to job responsibilities.

Pay
$41.43 - $62.15 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Schedule
Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks).
