This position is a hands-on role within the production area, requiring the Production Supervisor to spend 90% of their day on the production floor in Chandler, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Supervises manufacturing personnel in the assembly area.
- Develops work schedules.
- Hires, trains, and develops staff members.
- Maintains a current training/skill matrix.
- Oversees all production issues for a work group or shift.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Works closely with materials, engineering, quality, and other staff to ensure delivery schedules are met, parts are available as needed, and quality is maintained.
- Effectively manages individuals and teams, including performance management, conflict resolution, work scheduling, training, and successful accomplishment of delivery and quality objectives.
- Completes manufacturing-related projects as assigned, including cost-saving and continuous improvement projects utilizing lean and six sigma methodologies.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering discipline, or equivalent preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of a quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment is desired.
- Prior experience in cycle time, yield, or cost improvement projects is desired.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience in high-technology manufacturing required.
Skills
- Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with operations and other groups to ensure site delivery and quality issues are met.
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP applications; SAP preferred.
- Familiar with lean and six sigma methodologies (certification a plus).
Work Environment
- Work is performed primarily in an office and manufacturing environment.

- Works in a manufacturing area with some changes in temperature, as well as throughout the premises.
- Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, exposure to chemicals, and debris.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
- May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.
Physical Demands
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp.
- Ability to stand for sustained periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers.
- The ability to talk on the phone and use a computer for extended periods of time may be required.
Travel
Work may require out-of-town travel depending upon assignment (training and meetings).
