About the role
As Converting Supervisor at our Corrugated Container facility, you will oversee safe and efficient production operations. You will communicate performance expectations, supervise machine productivity and quality, and mentor team members to meet production targets and metrics.
Responsibilities
- Execute safety briefs for team members on designated shifts (daily, weekly, monthly, annually).
- Monitor workplace safety to identify and address unsafe conditions; ensure compliance with company safety policies and plant policies.
- Track and report daily production goals for Converting machines using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the plant scorecard.
- Manage workforce planning, including scheduling, attendance policies (vacations, floating days, call-ins), and shift coverage.
- Communicate effectively with all plant functional areas to meet production needs.
- Promote positive employee relations, interdepartmental communication, and collaboration.
- Supervise daily production activities, including team oversight and performance monitoring.
- Participate in Daily Management Systems (DMS) to track progress against production goals and drive performance excellence.
- Serve as an on-shift resource for troubleshooting process and maintenance issues.
- Make independent, effective decisions and act as a self-directed team player.
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D. (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Operations Management (preferred).
- 3+ years of converting supervisory experience in a packaging facility (required).
- Experience in a Lean environment; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification (preferred).
- Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Track record of effective problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Strong collaboration and teaming skills across functions.
- Ability to coach, train, and mentor employees.
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts.
