About the role

We have an opening for a Supportive Housing Associate at our Swing Lane Apartments in Medford, Oregon. The Supportive Housing Associate motivates adults with serious mental illness to participate in a variety of skills training and other treatment activities. This position requires demonstrating empathy and active listening, and includes crisis de-escalation training involving physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate access to community resources
  • Assist tenants with health care arrangements, housing applications, and move-in arrangements
  • Support medication administration, money management, and symptom monitoring
  • Encourage socialization, self-help, communication, and daily problem-solving
  • Provide housekeeping support

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) registration, requiring one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Human Development, or related field)
    • Minimum three (3) years of verifiable behavioral health experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs in a supervised setting
    • Equivalent combination of behavioral science education and satisfactory supplemental behavioral health experience and training
  • If not already registered as a QMHA through the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO), registration will be assisted within the first week of employment
  • Vocational Training Program available with additional training expectations to meet QMHA testing requirements
  • Driving is an essential function; must provide a valid driver's license from state of residence or obtain one within 30 days of hire, maintain a safe driving record, and pass a DHS criminal background check

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and climb stairs
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
  • Occasionally use ladders, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable
  • Successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, which require physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques, including lifting and transferring clients

Schedule

Part-time, day and overnight shifts: Saturday 8:00 AM through Sunday 5:00 PM (16-hour shift, sleep onsite). An additional $75 bonus is included on nights you sleep on-site.

Pay

$22.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience and credentials. Additional compensation includes:

  • $3.00 per hour night shift differential (10:00 PM - 8:30 AM)
  • 5% language differential for bilingual or multilingual candidates
