About the role
The Supported Housing Specialist is responsible for implementing a Permanent Supportive Housing program to support eligible adults with a serious and persistent mental illness.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with local housing authorities, other social service agencies, and property owners/landlords to develop and provide stable, affordable, and long-term independent housing opportunities through short and long-term subsidies such as Section-8 vouchers or other types of permanent housing.
- Works with a caseload of clients who reside in Strafford County who receive the Bridge's subsidy. These individuals may or may not be receiving mental health services from community partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in the social sciences or human services field.
- One year experience working with special needs populations; experience can be substituted for formal education.
- Able to work flexible hours to provide on-call support and respond to after-hours concerns and emergencies.
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Able to utilize technology provided to perform requirements of the job.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of adequate automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation required.

- Pass a background check which includes, but is not limited to, criminal and driving records.
