Support Worker - Hutt Valley (Part Time)

About the role
Are you looking for meaningful work where no two days are the same? As a Support Worker with IDEA Services, you'll work alongside people with intellectual disabilities, supporting them to achieve their goals, build independence, and participate fully in their communities. This rewarding role involves providing practical and social support tailored to each person's individual needs.
- Assisting with daily living activities
- Developing life skills
- Accessing community activities
- Managing finances
- Preparing meals
- Attending appointments
- Supporting people to pursue employment and hobbies
- Assisting with personal care, household tasks, medication administration, and mobility support (depending on the service)
This is a part-time position, offering a variety of shifts across weekdays, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.

What you will bring
- Prior experience in the health and disability sector is preferred but not required
- A strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued
- Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts
- Previous experience working with behaviours that challenge and de-escalating situations
- Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support
- Possession of a Full NZ driver's license
