About the role
The role of a Support Worker involves providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living. This includes tasks like helping them with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. Depending on the specific work environment, Support Workers may also assist with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration.
We are seeking Support Workers to assist individuals with complex behavioural needs and behaviors that can challenge. You will play a key role in helping manage overwhelming emotions, while promoting safety and positive behavior for individuals.
This role requires physical fitness, resilience, and confidence to manage risk and respond effectively in challenging situations. With the right approach, you can help create a supportive environment where meaningful progress is possible.

What you will bring
- Prior experience in the health and disability sector is preferred but not required. A strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
- Previous experience working with behaviors that challenge and de-escalating situations.
- Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
- Possession of a Full NZ driver's license.
