Support Worker - Wellington Region
Pay rate: $24.68 - $30.13 per hour depending on relevant qualifications. Opportunity to perform up to 6 sleepover shifts of up to 10 hours' duration per fortnight (paid at prevailing minimum wage). Overtime is available.
About the role
The role of a Support Worker involves providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living. This includes tasks like helping them with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. Depending on the specific work environment, Support Workers may also assist with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration.
Requirements
- No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary, but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts
- Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support
- Full NZ driver's license is required
