SUPPORT WORKER- BRENT (CHILDREN & YOUNG ADULTS)
Standard Nursing Agency is urgently seeking experienced Support/Care workers for the Brent area to provide personal care and assistance to service users consisting of children and young adults up to 18+ years of age diagnosed with learning disabilities, physical needs, challenging behaviour, ASD, global development delays, and severe sensory seeking. Many service users use Makaton to communicate their needs.
Responsibilities
- Undertake practical tasks such as personal care, activities in and outside of the home, some domestic tasks, and other related activities.
- Assist in identifying individual needs and ensure appropriate support is provided to meet these needs.
- Assist/enable service users to maintain high standards of health care and personal hygiene.
- Undertake any task as required, considering the changing needs of the service.
- Report writing.
- Managing challenging behaviour and behaviour management.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- NVQ Level 1, 2, or 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Health and Social Care.
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage an honest, courteous, caring, and professional service.
- Good understanding of safeguarding.
Skills & Experience
- Experience with PEG feeding.
- Stoma care.
- Safe use of hoists and other moving & handling equipment.
- Medication management.
- Epilepsy management.
- Catheter care.
- Ability to provide personal care with dignity and respect.
- Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability.
- Learning Disability & Autism Support.
- Nursing background is desirable but not essential.
