Support Technician / Human Resources Technician 1
About the role
The Human Resources Support Technician 1 position supports Direct Care and Treatment managers, supervisors, employees, and human resources staff. Key responsibilities include assisting with personnel issues, providing administrative support, and scanning and validating personnel documents.
Responsibilities
- Assist, inform, advise, and consult with employees, supervisors, and managers on personnel-related policies, procedures, and practices, as well as collective bargaining agreements and plans.
- Perform administrative duties to maintain efficient operation of the HR unit.
- Function as the human resources representative for new employee orientation (NEO), ensuring pre-employment and first-day compliance requirements are met and conducting necessary follow-up with supervisors and/or human resources staff.
- Create, manipulate, and run reports from a variety of software systems and applications as needed or requested.
- Maintain and monitor background studies for job candidates and employees.
- Provide HR support to new employees during New Employee Orientation (NEO).
Requirements
- 1 year of experience performing administrative or clerical duties in a human resource setting that demonstrates the ability to work with Human Resources, benefits, or similar type of transactional processing database.
- Experience working with Human Resources, benefits, or similar type of transactional processing database.
- Experience in application and interpretation of statute, policies, and procedures, and/or rules and regulations.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of AFSCME, MAPE, MMA, and MNA collective bargaining agreements; Commissioners and Managerial Plans; and rules and laws affecting Human Resources.
- Working knowledge of SEMA4.
- Preferred qualifications include working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Pay
$22.72 - $31.99 per hour; $47,439 - $66,795 annually.
Schedule
Day shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
