About the role

The Human Resources Support Technician 1 position within Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is responsible for providing administrative support to managers, supervisors, employees, and human resources staff. Key responsibilities include assisting with personnel issues, providing general administrative support, and scanning and validating personnel documents into an electronic document management system.

Responsibilities

  • Aid, inform, advise, and consult with employees, supervisors, and managers on personnel related policies, procedures, and practices as well as collective bargaining agreements and plans.
  • Perform administrative duties to maintain efficient operation of the HR unit.
  • Function as the human resources representative for new employee orientation (NEO), ensuring pre-employment and first day compliance requirements are met and conducting necessary follow-up with supervisors and/or human resources staff.
  • Create, manipulate, and run reports from a variety of software systems and applications as needed or requested.
  • Maintain background studies for job candidates and employees as needed.
  • Provide HR support to new employees during New Employee Orientation (NEO) as required.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience performing administrative or clerical duties in a human resource setting that demonstrates the following:
  • Experience working with Human Resources, benefits, or similar type of transactional processing database.
  • Performing a variety of administrative program support functions that include application and interpretation of statute, policies and procedures, and/or rules and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of AFSCME, MAPE, MMA and MNA collective bargaining agreements; Commissioners and Managerial Plans; and rules and laws affecting Human Resources.
  • Preferred candidates will have a variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Pay

  • $22.72 - $31.99 / hourly; $47,439 - $66,795 / annually.

Schedule

  • Day Shift / Typically 8:00am - 4:30pm.
  • Monday - Friday.
