About the role

These positions assume responsibility for preparing or assisting in preparation, cooking, and serving a variety of foods in an elementary-school food-service program.

Responsibilities

• Take oral and written instructions and follow through efficiently
• Work cooperatively with others
• Prepare, cook, and serve quantity food
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment
• Lift and carry items or objects weighing up to 50 pounds (up to 55 pounds with assistance)
• Withstand a wide range of temperatures (hot, non-air-conditioned environment and freezer)
• Stand for long periods of time
• Use cleaning chemicals

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Some experience and knowledge of quantity food preparation and use of related equipment

Pay

$16.71 per hour
