About the role
These positions assume responsibility for preparing or assisting in preparation, cooking, and serving a variety of foods in an elementary or secondary school food service program.
Responsibilities
- Prepare or assist in preparing a variety of foods
- Cook and serve food in a school food service program
- Follow oral and written instructions efficiently
- Work well with others
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment
- Use cleaning chemicals safely
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some experience and knowledge of quantity food preparation
- Ability to use equipment used in quantity food preparation
- Must be willing and able to:
- Lift and carry items or objects weighing up to 50 pounds (up to 55 pounds with assistance)
- Withstand a wide range of temperatures (hot, non-air-conditioned environment, and freezer)
- Stand for long periods of time
Pay
Minimum salary: $16.71 per hour
