Support Staff

As an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, Support Staff help ensure the daily operations of our residential and outpatient programs run smoothly while supporting clients on their journey toward lasting recovery and wellness.

In this role, you will foster a therapeutic, structured environment by promoting client safety, encouraging healthy routines and life skills, maintaining professional boundaries, and providing dependable support to both clients and clinical staff. Every interaction is guided by our commitment to ethical care, respect for individual differences, confidentiality, and compliance with California Department of Health Care Services and Joint Commission standards.

Solutions In Recovery is seeking a motivated, dependable Support Staff to join our team. The Support Staff at Solutions In Recovery is responsible for performing advanced indirect and selected direct client care duties in support of the clinical process in a competent manner under the direction of the Operations Director or Director team member and for performing related clerical functions. The Support Staff provides general oversight of the housing environment and reports all environmental needs as it relates to supporting clients, to the operations director.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall support to House Managers and clients
• Provide on-site assistance to House Managers at CCI office
• Assist House Managers and Case Managers with client transportation to CCI office, scheduled AA meetings, outside appointments and other recreational activities
• Transport clients in company owned vehicles to various locations and outside appointments
• When required to transport clients: Must be 21 years of age or over, with a clean driving record
• Prior to transporting clients, ensure that there are no alert signals active (i.e., check engine light, TPMS system, etc.) and that tires are properly inflated in accordance with manufacturer standards
• Accompany and transport clients as assigned
• Arrive promptly and ensure clients prompt arrival for appointment
• Follow vehicle operation rules. Practice defensive driving techniques and verbalize protocol for transportation safety and for management of out-of-control behaviors
• Report to Nursing and Lead Therapist concerns and/or issues related to clients' transportation
• Oversee client adherence to chore and meal planning schedule
• Assist House Managers with facilitation of group sessions at home (i.e., Meditation group, Meal Planning, etc.)
• Observe each client's behavior daily and issue infractions when necessary
• Summarize each client's activities and behavior daily in Shift Report
• Ensure that the environment of care adheres to safe care of the clients adhering to policies, procedures and standards of care
• Appropriately document clinical and administrative work
• Perform, monitor and document vital signs
• Collect urine drug screens on all admissions and random UDS on all PHP, IOP and OP clients, as appropriate
• Attend facility/community meeting, search belongings, collect unauthorized items to be placed in a secured area; conduct client rounds and perimeter checks every thirty minutes to ensure the safety of all clients
• Perform basic housekeeping duties during course of shift, including supporting clients in the life skills of, but not limited to, cleaning rooms and bathrooms (toilets, sinks, showers), cleaning microwaves, cleaning dirty utility rooms, doing laundry, sweeping and mopping floor, trash collection, making beds, etc.
• Perform other duties and tasks as required
• Report to Nursing and Lead Therapist concerns and/or issues related to clients' transportation
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or GED preferred
• One (1) year of experience in behavioral health care, preferred
• Attainment of at least 21 years of age
• A Health Screening with negative TB Test Results
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Driver's License, transportation required per job description duties
• Should be experienced as Support Staff or Mental Health Technician, preferably in the field

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry standards as related to the position of Lead Support Staff
• Basic knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
• Written and oral communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic
• Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations such as when verbally or physically confronted in an aggressive manner
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands
• Must possess a reading and writing level that provides for clear expression and/or understanding of assignments related to job description
• Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the facility

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand or sit for extended periods of time
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• The job requires frequent contact with water (hand washing and cleaning) and working with body fluid and hazardous chemicals
• When under these working conditions, OSHA standards and universal precautions must be followed always
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal to high volumes of stress

Schedule

Full-time, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts. Shift: 2 pm - 10:30 pm, weekdays and weekends. Also available: 6 am - 10:30 pm.

Pay

$21.00-$22.00 per hour
