About the Role

Under the direction of the Assistant Executive Director, IT, this position is responsible for making repairs and troubleshooting computer applications and hardware problems as required and/or assigned. The incumbent will ensure that all related computer service work requests are completed in an efficient and effective manner.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software-related issues.
  • Perform equipment upgrades and identify appropriate repair or replacement needs for assigned projects.
  • Complete computer service work requests efficiently.
  • Transport service recipients using a 6-person passenger van, including operating manual devices such as hydraulic lifts, wheelchair lifts, and vehicle doors.
  • Apply Agency Training Crisis Management Verbal and Physical Techniques during a crisis, consistent with agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of a variety of software, hardware, and network applications.
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

Physical Demands

  • Maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting) for extended periods.
  • Move, traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Carry and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Squat and drive a 6-person passenger van.
  • Operate manual devices such as hydraulic lifts and wheelchair lifts.
  • Dexterity with wrists and fingers to access, key, and sort electronic information or file documents.
  • View computer and/or electronic devices for extended periods.

Cognitive Functions

  • Analyze, compute, and problem-solve independently.
  • Hear and repeat information, take notes, and read documents.
  • Generate written information and maintain positive public relations.
  • Organize tasks and verbally communicate with a diverse group of people.
  • Tolerate interruptions while maintaining focus.

Work Environment

This position requires duties in indoor and/or outdoor settings where exposure to weather elements, dirt, dust, unpleasant smells, and/or loud noises may occur. Occasional temperature fluctuations depending on climate, season, or weather are possible.
