Support Services Technician - Wash

About the role

The Support Services Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sterility of animal cages at Taconic Biosciences' Germantown, NY site. This position involves operating specialized cage washers, safely maneuvering equipment, conducting maintenance, processing orders, and assembling IVCs.

Responsibilities

• Operating specialized cage washers to clean assorted animal barrier supplies and maintain cleanliness standards.
• Safely maneuver equipment and products using forklifts.
• Conduct regular maintenance to uphold optimal equipment performance.
• Process animal barrier orders with crucial supplies, ensuring timely supply delivery.
• Participate in the assembly of Individually Ventilated Cages (IVC) to meet facility requirements.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience or equivalent training.
• Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes (training provided).
• Strong problem-solving abilities to tackle challenges as they arise.

Pay

The Pay Range is $20 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors including geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.

Schedule

Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with a Monday to Thursday shift, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm, granting you a refreshing three-day weekend every week!

Physical Demands

• Considerable physical exertion is required such as frequent climbing, crouching, crawling, and/or lifting items up to 75 pounds.
• Regular use of chemicals, protective measures, and/or work with heavy machinery is required.
• Regular exposure to occupational hazards which require special precautions and occasional exposure to situations with the potential for serious injury.
• Regular exposure to extremes in temperature, outdoor weather, strong odors, and/or noise levels occurs within the work environment, and/or access to the work environment may be restricted.
