Support Scientist I - AKTA

About the role

At Cytiva, one of Danaher’s operating companies, you’ll provide superior scientific support to customers using Cytiva products in their scientific discovery journey. This remote position reports to the Senior Manager, Scientific Support and is part of the Scientific Support team located in Marlborough, MA.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-sale technical assistance, troubleshooting and product recommendations to both internal and external customers via phone, webchat, and email.
• Participate in product training and activities to develop your knowledge.
• Maintain an up-to-date basic knowledge of all required company products, services, and their associated support literature.
• Become familiar with standard work regarding maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date information on all customer inquiries while prioritizing and processing these in an orderly and consistent manner.
• Follow all appropriate regulations and processes for customer queries classified as complaints.
• Give presentations/trainings remotely or face-to-face to customers or colleagues, as necessary.
• Participate in activities such as developing and delivering technical training, reviewing product literature, field and lab work, trade shows and system installations.
• Identify potential opportunities to convert technical inquiries into new or developed sales possibilities (e.g., lead generation, up- and cross-selling).

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Bachelor’s required; Master’s/PhD preferred) in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience providing necessary knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
• Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in chromatography sciences.
• Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience with Cytiva (GE Healthcare) Life Sciences equipment for Chromatography (AKTA).
• Working knowledge of the AKTA instrument, Unicorn software, chromatography resins and purification methods.

Travel

• 5% travel to Marlborough, MA.
• Monthly local travel along with regional colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in drug development.
• Teaching or training experience including design and delivery of basic and advanced concepts to technical or non-technical individuals.
• One or more years of technical support, field applications or sales experience emphasizing customer contact.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000. This range may be modified in the future and the actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and location. This position is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
