Support Merchandiser

American Greetings, a global leader in the celebrations marketplace, is seeking part‑time Support Merchandisers to independently service retail locations, display and maintain inventory of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more.

Pay

Starting pay is $13.50 per hour with two scheduled increases during the first year of employment. After 6 months the rate rises to $14.30, and after 1 year to $15.00. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

Flexible work scheduling. The weekly average is 4 hours per week, increasing to an average of 8 hours per week around holidays. Additional support may be required with availability on multiple consecutive days and extended hours for business or project‑based assignments. Ideal candidates are available during daytime hours, especially Monday mornings. Occasional weekends and the day before/after major holidays (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas) may be needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service stores on an assigned route, merchandising and organizing product orders, displaying products in greeting‑card departments and other retail areas, and maintaining organized back‑room spaces.
• Communicate with management about any questions or concerns regarding service or schedules.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment using effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide additional availability for extra working days and extended hours leading up to and immediately following major holidays.
• Assist with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal as requested.
• Review and plan weekly service schedules and workloads using a company‑issued tablet.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation for routes with multiple retail locations.
• Access to reliable internet for receiving critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet for training and daily tasks.
• Willingness to meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends and holiday periods.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.

Physical Demands

• Work on sales floors and back‑stock rooms, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and fixtures up to 40 pounds.
• Stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; a stepstool may be used for certain tasks.
