Support Merchandiser

American Greetings, a global leader in the Celebrations marketplace, is seeking Support Merchandisers to independently service retail locations, showcasing organization and time‑management skills while displaying and maintaining inventory of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more.

Pay

The starting pay is $14.40 per hour with two scheduled increases during the first year of employment. After 6 months the rate rises to $15.20, and after 1 year of continued employment it increases to $16.00. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The route averages 10 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing to about 20 hours per week around holidays. Flexible work scheduling is offered. Employees must be available for occasional weekends and for days before and after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). Additional support may be required on multiple consecutive days or with extended hours for business‑critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Service stores on an assigned route, merchandising and organizing product orders, displaying products in greeting‑card departments and other retail areas, and maintaining organized back‑room spaces.
• Communicate with management about any questions or concerns regarding service or schedules.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment, applying effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal as requested.
• Review and plan weekly service schedules and workloads using a company‑issued tablet.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation for routes with multiple retail locations.
• Access to reliable internet to receive critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet for training and daily tasks.
• Willingness to meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends and days surrounding major holidays.

Physical Demands

• Work on sales floors and in back‑stock rooms, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and fixtures up to 40 pounds.
• Stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; a stepstool may be used for certain tasks.
