Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and implement an overall specialized system of supported living options.
- Create an evaluation process for follow-up and ongoing monitoring of programs.
- Act as liaison to local providers of supported living services and serve as communication link between the Agency and the providers.
- Act as liaison to the Department of Developmental Services for issues regarding supported living services.
- Analyze and apply existing and proposed statutes and regulations.
- Draft revisions to Agency policies and guidelines and work with DDS to implement revised policies.
- Participate in the Request for Proposals (RFP) for potential new housing providers.
- Implement internal and external communications strategies that promote and educate employees and the community regarding supported living services initiatives.
- Facilitate communications at all levels to solve problems and participate in planning of proactive solutions.
- Coordinate supported living services for people supported with various community partners.
- Set priorities, organize workload, manage relevant contracts with community partners, and meet agreed upon deadlines.
- Share related information and articles to staff and stakeholders as appropriate.
- Prepare and send required reports related to Supported Living Services within the Agency's community.
- Contribute to Individual Service Plans for people supported who currently participate in housing services.
- Respond to questions related to SLS regulations and interpretation of the regulations.
- May act as a witness in appeals.
- Conduct New Hire and other training relevant to function to staff and community.
- Provide updates on related Performance Contract Measures as requested.
- Implement internal and external communications strategies that promote and educate employees and the community regarding supported living services initiatives.
- Facilitate communications at all levels to solve problems and participate in planning of proactive solutions.
- Serve as liaison to community organizations including local government housing departments, non-profit housing development corporations, families/consumer groups interested in residential development.
- Present supported living services information to people supported, families, service providers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in special projects and assist with additional duties or tasks, as assigned.
- Maintain all client information as confidential in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Lanterman Act.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work or related human services field
- 2+ years in social services
- Experience in interpretation of policies, procedures, legislation and regulations pertaining to particular programs, including Regional Center Systems and Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act
Skills
- Budget creation and management, preferably as it pertains to Title XVII
- Negotiation
Desired Qualifications
- Regional center experience and/or knowledge of program development, consultation, and workshop coordination
- Experience in multi-cultural settings and/or multi-lingual capacity
