Support Carpenter Job Description

About the role

Support Carpenter Assist with the overall construction of interior and exterior residential projects under the general direction of the Project Manager or designated manager.

Responsibilities

• Beginning-to-end residential construction, including framing, remodeling existing construction, roofing and skylights, siding, door and window installation, insulation, drywall, flooring and tile, cabinetry, and precision trim installation
• Establish relationships and manage conflict resolution with all involved parties during projects to create an agreeable working environment
• Work in extreme weather conditions, perform heavy lifting, and maintain stamina with a positive work ethic
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues

Requirements

• First Aid and CPR Certification (must obtain within 1 month at your cost; no need to renew after initial certification expires)
• Own basic carpentry tools
• Dependable, presentable transportation
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent record (record to be verified with our insurance carrier)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to fill out forms legibly
• Good knowledge of safe lifting and carrying; strong safety consciousness
• Adequate hearing, vision, physical ability, and endurance to perform assigned work
• Able to perform physical exertion typically found on construction sites, including carrying, lifting, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, and hauling:
  • Lift 75–125 pounds on a regular basis
  • Regularly lift 30–50 pounds overhead
  • Occasionally lift up to 125 pounds overhead
• Work inside and outside, on even and uneven surfaces, on roofs and ladders, under structures, and in other physically demanding situations
• Provide your own smartphone and data package at no cost to the company

Pay

$22–$28 per hour, depending on experience
