Supply Technician

About the role

Provides direct support of customer requirements generated from the depot maintenance repair programs and activities within the scope of the industrial support site. Monitors reports and listings for re-warehousing actions improving material availability for production customer and provides input to Distribution Process Worker Expeditors (DPWE) for warehousing and storage actions. Responsible for material coordination and distribution support for assigned urgent, critical or high priority items, and projects which can affect work stoppage. Applies distribution principles to include research and query of material within the industrial support site. Analyzes and resolves discrepancies and prevents recurrence.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal
• Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access security requirement
• Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
• Selective Service Registration: males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt
• Selectees must have a REAL ID or other acceptable identification documents to access certain federal facilities
• This is a Mission Essential (ME) position; may be required to report to work during emergencies

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supply Technician, your resume and supporting documentation must support specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level:

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in Federal service, military or private sector
• Specialized experience must demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities in inventory control, storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization
• Experience performing material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance or production shops
• Experience analyzing and planning storage areas based on handling problems, exits, stock turnover, physical characteristics and safety considerations

Creditable experience includes paid and unpaid roles such as volunteer work through National Service programs.

Physical Demands

• Work is mostly sedentary; however, some walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, and carrying of items up to 45 pounds may be required when tracking or counting material in warehouse or storage areas

Work Environment

• Performed in office and industrial/warehouse environments
• Moderate risks and discomfort; requires safety precautions
• May require time in hangar and ramp areas with exposure to various weather conditions
• Safety shoes required; subject to eye and noise hazards requiring protective devices
• May be exposed to strong odors, fumes from paint, hazardous chemicals, dirt, grease, etc.
• Regular use of safety equipment required
