Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates the efficient movement of material by planning, setting up, and releasing work orders to provide continuous product flow and on-time delivery of customer orders.
- Determines material needs and availability of stock.
- Works closely with operations, purchasing, engineering, and quality departments to achieve production goals.
- Ensures that the required parts and materials are available to meet both customer and inventory needs.
- Rearranges schedules to meet changing requirements such as customer orders, manpower, or material shortages and plant load.
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity; creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise-wide systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in area of discipline.
- Competent in all job functions and has a general understanding of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
- Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis.
- Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion.
- Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization.
- Typically 3+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
- May be required to maintain certification in a quality management method, e.g., Lean, Six Sigma.
- SAP or equivalent ERP experience preferred.
- Kinaxis or equivalent experience preferred.
- Intermediate Excel skills preferred.
- Position may require the ability to travel.
