About the role

You will serve as a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the SUBMARINE READINESS SQUADRON 32 (SRS-32), SUPPLY DEPARTMENT located at SUBMARINE BASE, GROTON, SOUTHEASTERN CT PLANNING REGION.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process Automated Shore Interface products for submarines, removing workload from the submarine’s 3M Coordinator and Supply Department.
  • Schedule Automated Shore Interface (ASI) products to be processed onboard submarines as required.
  • Download ASI products and bring the files to the submarine for processing into the Relational Supply (RSUPPLY) system.
  • Reconcile Automated Stock Reports, review and verify the Bulk Input File, and perform all needed ship checks.
  • Provide technical expertise in logistics, inventory, and financial management, as related to automated supply, to submarines and shore commands through on-site assistance and implementation.
  • Assess logistics readiness and develop plans for corrective actions for assigned submarines.
  • Cook periodically technical assist visits and inspections of submarine supply operations to evaluate and improve supply readiness.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and take action to increase Atlantic Fleet Submarine’s and Squadron’s participation and effectiveness in a wide variety of programs and processes.
  • Evaluate the Submarine Supply Departments training program, develop corrective actions to resolve discrepancies and improve weak areas.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Necessary to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
