Responsibilities
- Learns and leads a team fulfilling logistics and supply management activities.
- Interviews, selects, and hires new employees and ensures completion of training plans.
- Delegates tasks and provides daily guidance and feedback.
- Evaluates employee performance and coaches team towards individual and department objectives.
- Responsible for counseling and corrective action.
- Collaborates with CFO in establishing short and long-term plans, budget requests, and financial estimates.
- Manages the complete supply chain process, focusing on efficiency and minimizing costs.
- Orders, receives, distributes, and controls inventory.
- Negotiates with vendors and adheres to regulatory and accrediting standards.
- Maintains accurate inventory records and reconciles with accounting applications and physical counts.
- Safeguards appropriate stock levels and ensures employees have necessary supplies.
- Maintains inventory levels for critical operations supplies and complies with applicable rules and regulations.
- Leads the courier team for professional external and internal customer service and safe transport of blood products and supplies.
- Develops and revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and employee training plans, monitoring for compliance.
- Acts as Safety Officer, participates in safety committees, and ensures safe operations.
- Administers the supply function of NetSuite and communicates effectively across organizational levels.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and best practices through continuous education.
- Participates in special projects and fulfills other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant majors such as Business Administration, Accounting, or Logistics/Supply Chain, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a related role, with a background in vendor relationship management and price negotiation.
- Numeric and basic cost accounting skills, including report development and analysis.
- Advanced MS Office proficiency, including navigation and administration of web-based applications and proprietary systems.
- Expert written and verbal communication skills, general organizational knowledge, and business acumen.
- At least 23 years of age for liability insurance purposes; valid Kentucky driver’s license and safe driving record; occasional business travel within KBC’s service area.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and regular on-call rotation.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Fulfill basic clerical duties (typing/writing) for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Frequently bend, reach, or crawl to perform various job tasks.
- Safely ascend/descend a ladder.
- Analyze complex situations and make sound decisions.
- Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
- Work outside in various weather conditions.
- Occasionally travel to fulfill essential job functions.
