About the role
Under general supervision, store, requisition, pick, distribute, and deliver general, medical, surgical supplies and equipment throughout various healthcare settings.
Responsibilities
- Store supplies in clean rooms, carts, and supply areas, using proper rotation.
- Scan inventory labels to generate replenishment orders for both stock and non-stock items.
- Pick supplies from storage locations for distribution and placement into Case Carts, and restocking Exchange Carts such as Code (Crash) Carts and Procedural Carts/Trays.
- Check various supply locations for expired or recalled products and remove them per policy.
- Distribute oxygen tanks and minor equipment.
- Deliver supplies and packages to nursing units, clinics, and other locations utilizing appropriate signature technologies.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and customer service requests.
- Process issues and credits in the ERP system, ensuring correct cost allocation.
- Report inventory discrepancies and document according to policy.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Utilize various computer technologies such as handhelds, package scanners, and software programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure par locations are free of dirt, dust, and trash.
- Assist with training Supply Chain staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- No experience required.
Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Team members employed within the Tuomey Supply Chain Department location under this job description are required to submit and comply with Prisma Health annual MVR and Driver Training requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in typing, computer use, and quickly learning new software applications.
- Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems.
- Knowledgeable in operating office equipment (fax, copier, printer).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to include coworkers, management, and clinical partners.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal, including active listening.
- Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and problem solving.
