Supply Chain Technician I

About the role

Under general supervision, store, requisition, pick, distribute, and deliver general, medical, surgical supplies and equipment throughout various healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Store supplies in clean rooms, carts, and supply areas, using proper rotation.
  • Scan inventory labels to generate replenishment orders for both stock and non-stock items.
  • Pick supplies from storage locations for distribution and placement into Case Carts, and restock Exchange Carts such as Code (Crash) Carts and Procedural Carts/Trays.
  • Check various supply locations for expired or recalled products and remove them per policy.
  • Distribute oxygen tanks and minor equipment.
  • Deliver supplies and packages to nursing units, clinics, and other locations utilizing appropriate signature technologies.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and customer service requests.
  • Process issues and credits in the ERP system, ensuring correct cost allocation.
  • Report inventory discrepancies and document according to policy.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Utilize various computer technologies such as handhelds, package scanners, and software programs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure par locations are free of dirt, dust, and trash.
  • Assist with training Supply Chain staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education – High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience – No experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in typing, computer use, and quickly learning new software applications.
  • Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems.
  • Knowledgeable in operating office equipment (fax, copier, printer).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to include coworkers, management, and clinical partners.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal, including active listening.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and problem solving.
