About the role
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for managing the supply chain within the Children's Behavioral Health Center, including putting away, requisitioning, picking, distributing, and delivering medical and surgical supplies across various healthcare settings.
Responsibilities
- Put away supplies into Med-Surge areas.
- Scan inventory labels to generate replenishment orders for both stock and non-stock items.
- Pick supplies from storage locations for distribution and placement into Case Carts, and restock Exchange Carts such as Code (Crash) Carts and Procedural Carts/Trays.
- Check various supply locations for product expiration dates and removal according to policy.
- Assist with special projects.
- Deliver supplies and packages to various nursing units, clinics, and other locations utilizing appropriate signature technologies.
- Answer phone calls and emails and respond to customer service requests.
- Perform issues and credits in the Materials Management Information System (MMIS), ensuring the cost of the items are allocated appropriately.
- Utilize various computer technologies such as handhelds, package scanners, and software programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure par locations are free of dirt, dust, and trash.
- Deliver supplies and packages to various nursing units, clinics, and other locations utilizing appropriate signature technologies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-3 years of professional experience preferred.
- No license/certification/registration requirements.
- Proficiency in typing, using computers, and learning software applications.
- Knowledge of general office equipment and ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a busy, high-pressure environment and demonstrate proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Qualifications
- Typing, use of computers, and computer software proficiency.
- Knowledge of general office equipment such as fax machines, copy machines, box cutters, and printers.
- Ability to work in a busy, high-pressure environment.
- Effective communication skills, including active listening and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and stand for prolonged periods of time.
