About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Behavioral Health Technician to join our patient-centered care team. In this role, you will support our Behavioral Health Providers by assisting with patient educations, patient assessments, and guidance, helping individuals on their journey towards wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in health care setting in all aspects of program implementation including coordination and information collection.
  • Collections detailed data and enters in project database.
  • Completes mental health and developmental screenings and enters into EHR.
  • Comprehensive understanding of substance uses screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment.
  • Provides administrative support to programs including entering screenings into EHR and other duties as assigned by program leadership.
  • Communicates professionally, appropriately, and clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Communicates and reports accurately and in a timely manner, meeting designated deadlines.
  • Participates in training as it relates to program.
  • Participates in regular meetings with team.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the needs of the underserved and vulnerable populations and abides by privacy and security standards.
  • Respects and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as they are assigned.
  • Awareness of social determinants of health and the impact they have in physical and mental health.
  • Motivated to remain informed in local resources and keep resource references up to date for colleagues and patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate, required.

  • Ability to effectively manage projects.
  • Good problem-solving and analysis capabilities.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess organizational skills and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize well and maintain appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate ability to relate to diverse populations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Recognizes legal obligations to confidentiality of health care and program records.
