About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Behavioral Health Technician to join our patient-centered care team. In this role, you will support our Behavioral Health Providers by assisting with patient educations, patient assessments, and guidance, helping individuals on their journey towards wellness.
Responsibilities
- Assist in health care setting in all aspects of program implementation including coordination and information collection.
- Collections detailed data and enters in project database.
- Completes mental health and developmental screenings and enters into EHR.
- Comprehensive understanding of substance uses screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment.
- Provides administrative support to programs including entering screenings into EHR and other duties as assigned by program leadership.
- Communicates professionally, appropriately, and clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Communicates and reports accurately and in a timely manner, meeting designated deadlines.
- Participates in training as it relates to program.
- Participates in regular meetings with team.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the needs of the underserved and vulnerable populations and abides by privacy and security standards.
- Respects and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings.
- Performs other related duties as they are assigned.
- Awareness of social determinants of health and the impact they have in physical and mental health.
- Motivated to remain informed in local resources and keep resource references up to date for colleagues and patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate, required.

- Ability to effectively manage projects.
- Good problem-solving and analysis capabilities.
- Must be detail oriented and possess organizational skills and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize well and maintain appropriate sense of urgency.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrate ability to relate to diverse populations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Recognizes legal obligations to confidentiality of health care and program records.
