About the role

The Supply Chain Specialist II, Logistics plays a crucial role within Northwestern Medicine's Supply Chain team. This position involves various tasks such as inventory ordering and replenishment, receiving, equipment, linen, and mail management. The role requires expertise in key areas, processes, and tasks, and provides advice and assistance to colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Follows standard work and methodologies around inventory, receiving, equipment, linen and mail.
  • Utilizes standard processes within WaveMark and PeopleSoft to maintain data integrity.
  • Utilizes problem-solving skills to resolve complex or critical situations involving technology, customers, staff, and other supply chain management personnel.
  • Maintains work area to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicates effectively with others, respects diverse opinions and styles, and acknowledges the assistance and contributions of others.
  • Trains new employees on processes and policies.
  • Acts as a resource and point of contact in the absence of the Operations Coordinator or Supply Chain Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or at least two years of relevant work experience.
  • Able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Computer literate – MMIS software experience preferred.
  • Able to work independently and respond quickly under pressure when problems arise.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to think critically.

Physical Demands

Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry 50+ pounds and a push/pull force 50+ pounds. Extensive walking and walking time of 5+ hours per day.

Sign-on Bonus

New employees are eligible for a sign-on bonus to begin on the first of the month following their starting date. The role is graded as a non-exempt position meaning you are eligible for overtime.
