We're seeking highly motivated individuals for a challenging and rewarding opportunity supporting US Navy ships as a Government Contractor within the Subcontract Management group.
About the role
This hybrid position oversees subcontracts to ensure effective delivery of major equipment to the ship. You will develop procurement strategies, conduct market research, draft and negotiate complex contracts, and evaluate supplier performance.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in safety initiatives and foster a positive safety culture.
- Develop, evaluate, negotiate, and execute complex procurement documents.
- Conduct market research and review material/services specifications to develop bidders lists.
- Create RFP/RFQ packages, including contract/PO types and Terms and Conditions.
- Evaluate bids and conduct source selection in collaboration with other departments.
- Negotiate price and Terms and Conditions as needed.
- Monitor and assess supplier performance; initiate corrective action when necessary.
- Assist in cross-departmental communication and information sharing to support organizational alignment.
- Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate effectiveness of existing department strategies and recommend improvements.
- Be a continuous learner, enhancing current skills and preparing for future roles.
Requirements
We are hiring for two levels:
- Supply Chain Specialist II: Either 2–5 years' experience with a BS/BA in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field (or comparable work experience), or 1–4 years' experience with an MBA or certification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or a related field. Works independently with some supervision.
- Supply Chain Specialist III: Either 4–7 years' experience in procurement or a related field, or 3–6 years' experience with a BS/BA in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field. Works independently with little supervision.

- Ability to develop a command of complex contract terms quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including translating technical decisions into business terms.
- Strong documentation skills for varied audiences.
- Ability to manage high-volume work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Solid project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and financial acumen, including budget and expenditure monitoring.
- Positive, energetic team player with cross-functional experience.
- High tolerance for uncertainty and shifting priorities.
Pay
Competitive salary with an expected range of $57,000–$78,400 per year. Final offer depends on experience, skills, and qualifications.
