SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST 2
The Role
Purchases a high volume and variety of materials, supplies and services. Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, delivery, quality and service. Follows up on all awards until completion of order. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering changes. Conducts supplier site visits and rates them as to production capability, performance and delivery.
Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

About the Role
This posting will support an upcoming Career Job Fair that is scheduled for Thursday, July 23rd 2026 This job fair is being held to support the Supply Chain Management Division of HII – Newport News Shipbuilding. Interviews will be conducted in person at the NetCenter located in Newport News, VA.
