Supply Chain Planning & Procurement Team Lead

Primary focus: Manage purchasing execution while establishing and developing a more structured supply planning function. Supervise and develop the Buyers, establishing clear priorities and accountabilityDevelop material planning processes to align purchasing with production requirements and anticipated demandEstablish visibility into material requirements, lead times, open orders, and upcoming shortagesIntroduce more consistent use of ERP/MRP tools to support purchasing and planning decisionsDevelop planning parameters, including lead times, reorder points, safety stock, and minimum order quantities as appropriateCoordinate material requirements with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and OperationsEstablish shortage tracking and escalation processes to minimize production disruptionsWork with the Inventory Manager to improve inventory accuracy, material availability, and excess inventory managementMonitor supplier delivery performance and follow up on commitmentsIdentify opportunities to improve purchasing, planning, and material flowProvide regular reporting on material availability, shortages, inventory, and supplier risksEscalate significant supplier, capacity, and cost issues to the Senior Director People management: Formal management of the Buyers/Planners, with responsibility for developing planning capabilities within the existing team.
