Supply Chain Planning Life Sciences Manager

Accenture's Supply Chain & Operations practice specializes in the intersection of functional consulting, data, and technology, focusing on Life Sciences clients in biopharma, med tech, and CDMO/CMO organizations. Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize end-to-end planning processes across supply networks, including Integrated Business Planning (IBP), demand planning, supply planning, production scheduling, and inventory management.
• Design and implement IBP/S&OP frameworks tailored to life sciences environments, accounting for regulatory release cycles, CMO/CDMO network complexity, and product portfolio dynamics.
• Lead the full IBP cycle, integrating commercial, clinical, regulatory, and operations inputs to drive aligned decision-making.
• Develop demand and supply planning processes that account for life sciences–specific drivers such as patient-based forecasting, launch ramp modeling, and batch yield variability.
• Translate IBP decisions into short-horizon execution plans, ensuring alignment with near-term patient and customer demand.
• Develop multi-echelon inventory strategies that balance service levels against working capital and write-off risk.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement digital tools like AI-enabled planning platforms and advanced analytics.
• Define and track KPIs such as OTIF, forecast accuracy, and inventory days-on-hand, developing action plans for continuous improvement.
• Design governance frameworks and operating models that enable coordinated decision-making across complex organizations.
• Build and sustain stakeholder relationships across client organizations, aligning on planning priorities and communicating outcomes.
• Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks specific to life sciences environments.
• Provide data-driven insights through advanced reporting and visualization to support senior leadership decisions.
• Lead small to medium-sized teams, manage projects, and support client sales origination and thought leadership.
• Support delivery of generative AI and agent-based modeling to accelerate scalable use cases for planning operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working on Supply Chain initiatives.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working on Integrated Planning initiatives.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Biopharma, Med Tech, CDMO/CMO, or adjacent Life Sciences sectors.
• Minimum of 2 years of external consulting experience or 5 years of internal consulting experience at a Manager level.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have a minimum of 6 years’ work experience).
• Willingness to travel 10-75% for this role.

Qualifications

• Deep specialization in life sciences planning domains such as Patient-Based Demand Forecasting, IBP/S&OP, Inventory Optimization, or CMO/CDMO Supply Planning.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments.
• Strong relationship-building and leadership skills, with experience overseeing complex programs.
• MBA or equivalent graduate degree (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with life sciences planning platforms (e.g., OMP, Kinaxis RapidResponse, SAP IBP/S4) and adjacent systems (e.g., Veeva Vault, SAP ERP).
• Lean or Six Sigma qualifications (preferred).
• Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Adobe Analytics).

Pay

Compensation varies based on factors such as location, role, skill set, and experience. Annual salary ranges for select locations are as follows:

• California: $94,400 to $293,800
• Cleveland: $87,400 to $235,000
• Colorado: $94,400 to $253,800
• District of Columbia: $100,500 to $270,300
• Illinois: $87,400 to $253,800
• Maine: $80,400 to $216,200
• Maryland: $94,400 to $253,800
• Massachusetts: $94,400 to $270,300
• Minnesota: $94,400 to $253,800
• New York: $87,400 to $293,800
• New Jersey: $100,500 to $293,800
• Virginia: $87,400 to $270,300
