About the role
Clegg Construction's supply chain management process is quality assured and audited in accordance with ISO 9001. Through a partnering approach, our supply chain forms an integral part of our operation and is treated as an extension of our own business, expected to meet the same high standards.
Requirements
Before accepting any supplier, we undertake a rigorous exercise to ensure each project's specific requirements are met. Suppliers must provide information regarding:
- Health, safety, and environmental records
- Level of competence
- Training records
- Equality and diversity information
- Financial stability
- Current workload
We engage with all subcontractors as early as possible to facilitate partnership, collaboration, and identification of innovative and best-value solutions. Once on site, our entire workforce adopts our safety, environmental, and quality procedures to ensure we act as one team, working toward the common goal of construction excellence.

Local Procurement
Clegg Construction promotes economic sustainability through local procurement. Much of our proven local supply chain has been integral to our successful delivery for many years. However, we recognize that many well-established local SMEs possess significant knowledge of the area and locally based skilled resources to deliver effectively.
On all Clegg projects, we aim to engage the services of social enterprises in areas such as waste management and cleaning of welfare areas. These partnerships help create local work, drive climate action, and reduce inequalities in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
One such company we work closely with is Community Wood Recycling, which collects wood waste from construction sites to stock its nationwide network of reclaimed timber stores. They save carbon and fight unemployment by providing work opportunities to disadvantaged people across the UK.
