About the role

When Fortune 500 businesses and new startups need supply chain solutions, they look to our industry-leading logistics experts. At Ryder, the Supply Chain Operations Specialist provides specialized operational functions for assigned work groups in a Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) logistics operation. This role delivers customized service for SCS customers and/or site locations, including advanced troubleshooting, resolution decision-making to avoid logistical errors, specialized reporting, and process management. The position may also assist with new hire training and interact with carriers or customers based on account complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily and shift goals of the facility and work group(s).
  • Report plans to obtain operational goals and assist with training hourly, SNE, or other specialists.
  • Lead and initiate employees through in-depth training and continuous review of policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Make decisions for location activities, including demand planning, supplier calls, customer interactions, and specialized process troubleshooting.
  • Support and aid in the development of system and process training for employees in the work group(s).
  • Perform operational administrative functions to support location activities and/or customer needs.
  • Identify and solve operational issues by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity, and results.
  • May serve as a floater to complete all Supply Chain Ops Associate roles across multiple shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year or more in logistics, warehouse, or an industry-related field.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) intermediate proficiency preferred.
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) intermediate proficiency required.
  • OSHA intermediate proficiency required.
  • DOT and Hazmat (account-dependent) intermediate proficiency preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees, peers, and management.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work self-directed with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage individual performance and employee relations.
  • Ability to use sound judgment when information is incomplete or ambiguous.

Pay

Annual salary of $55,000 based on experience. Salary paid weekly.

Schedule

Monday–Saturday, 1:30 PM–10:00 PM (2 Saturdays on, 1 off, with occasional Sunday).
