About the Role
As our Supply Chain Manager, you will oversee and enhance the full scope of our supply chain operations. You will manage the entire production flow related to supply chain and materials management, from procuring raw materials to delivering the final product to customers. Your expertise will ensure processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet high-quality standards. Collaborating with various departments and external partners, you will develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory management, streamline logistics, and improve overall supply chain performance.
Responsibilities
- Work with operations to set, track, and execute daily and weekly goals for assigned work centers, considering personnel and equipment constraints while supporting overall rate targets (KPI).
- Manage demand planning in coordination with Scheduling/Planning to optimize workflow.
- Oversee the cost center and monitor KPIs to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Implement and manage Lean manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma and Kaizen to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Lead and manage all procurement and materials management activities, including order placement, supplier reduction/evaluation/certification, supplier follow-up, price negotiation, and compliance with government procurement regulations.
- Ensure all material management policies align with inventory control objectives.
- Optimize inventory storage locations, set up Min/Max levels, reduce excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory, and improve stock room layout.
- Collaborate with divisional materials personnel to maintain continuity in purchasing and supplier management processes.
- Facilitate corporate purchasing and materials initiatives, including common part numbers, supplier-managed inventory, consolidated purchasing agreements, supplier reduction, and supplier quality certifications.
- Conduct performance reviews, corrective actions, and goal setting for direct reports; provide career development, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Maintain AS9100 and ISO9001 standards for an ITAR-compliant facility.
- Champion Winchester’s culture and set clear goals and expectations.
- Work with a global network of suppliers, focusing on long-term relationship building, capacity planning, and production analysis based on demand and timeliness.
- Lead by example, hold people accountable, and use data to make informed decisions.
- Partner effectively with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Quality, leadership, employees, vendors, and customers to positively impact the organization.
- Provide administrative and hands-on support to the department to ensure efficient operations.
- Lead and promote Continuous Improvement events and activities.
- Define, modify, or improve product flow to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Focus on driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity Systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in materials management (purchasing, planning, inventory control, etc.) or equivalent.
- 3 or more years in a materials management leadership role (supervisor or manager).
- 2 or more years of experience in an aerospace/defense or electronics manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Import/Export Trade Compliance experience (preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills to support operations, engineering, and quality assurance functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to share knowledge at appropriate levels of the organization.
