About the role
The Supply Chain Manager will serve as a close operational partner to site leadership, driving high standards in supply chain execution across drill manufacturing and reconditioning operations to ensure best-in-class service to global and domestic customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team for new solid carbide drills and reconditioning of solid carbide drills and endmills
- Manage and lead projects for the site, including improvement projects, production transfers between Walter sites and new products
- Responsible for end-to-end production planning for new drill manufacturing and reconditioning services for drills and endmills
- Manage distinct planning logic for each stream: make-to-stock and make-to-order for new drills; service order management for reconditioned tools
- Weekly OTD (On-Time Delivery) tracking — plan vs. actual — across manufacturing and reconditioning workflows with structured reporting to site leadership
- Prepare weekly and monthly production plans aligned with capacity, incoming reconditioned tool volume, and raw material availability
- Manage SAP planning module to drive scheduling, procurement, and inventory decisions across both business streams
- Ensure availability of all required raw materials and consumables (carbide blanks, regrind stock, coatings, packaging)
- Manage inbound logistics for used tools received for reconditioning, including tracking, intake coordination, and turnaround time commitments
- Timely communication to internal and external customers on planned volumes, reconditioning lead times, and delivery commitments
- Maintain and monitor key supply chain KPIs including stock availability, delivery precision, lead times, and delivery accuracy; drive corrective actions when targets are not met
- Manage quarterly volume and inventory forecasts; track reconditioning service volume trends and adjust capacity planning accordingly
- Lead implementation of LEAN concepts
Requirements
- Engineering or Business degree; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in logistics or supply chain in a manufacturing environment
- Direct experience in production planning, inventory management, and supply chain execution in a precision manufacturing or machining environment
- Experience managing supply chain for both make-to-stock manufacturing and service/repair operations
- In-depth knowledge of forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain management concepts
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
