Supply Chain Manager

About the Role

The Supply Chain Manager for distribution is responsible for leading the planning team and ensuring the inventory health of the Sika distribution network. This includes managing product availability, distribution center capacity, inventory turns, and minimizing storage, transportation, and obsolescence costs. The role works under the general supervision of the Director, Supply Chain, and may include other assigned activities.

Responsibilities

• Grow, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of distribution planning professionals.
• Maximize product turns and minimize scrap risk in the distribution network.
• Represent distribution network capacity in business and production planning.
• Ensure product categories are stocked according to business targets.
• Partner with Demand Planners to improve SKU location-level forecast accuracy.
• Act as a business liaison between distribution, operations, customer service, and business unit teams.
• Proactively position products to support customer demands.
• Monitor key customer scorecards and communicate discrepancies with the business team.
• Monitor finished goods inventory using demand forecasts, historical orders, and software tools.
• Ensure forecasts are appropriate by SKU location to achieve high customer satisfaction at the lowest cost.
• Optimize inventory velocity and minimize obsolete and aged inventory.
• Manage new product introductions and product eliminations while preventing scrap.
• Maintain open communication with customer service and sales to understand customer needs and coordinate with logistics.
• Oversee slow-moving and obsolete inventory administration with business teams.
• Serve as the functional expert for the Inventory Optimization (IO) tool.
• Drive process efficiency improvements through automation and simplification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business management.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, and/or forecasting in the chemical or retail industry.
• APICS certification is a plus.

Special Requirements/Competencies

• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
• Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and SAP.
• Ability to develop process expertise for troubleshooting.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as required.
• Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
