Role Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will have full oversight of all planning aspects for all product segments within the plant. Responsible for implementing the plant's supply chain initiatives with customers. Beyond these strategic requirements, this position also has management responsibilities for the internal and external warehouses, cycle counts, inventory control, shipping logistics including national and international shipments, all raw material procurements, scheduling, customer service, material handling, customer and supplier returns.

Your Role in Unpacking Possibilities

  • Ensures that customers are satisfied with supply and delivery process. Leads the planning and communication efforts with largest customers directly.
  • Oversees the plant production schedule, ensuring customer requirements are met and alignment with capacity plans and inventory targets
  • Manages logistics including carrier partnership activities and incident notifications
  • Directs warehouse activities, including best practices for warehouse optimization and utilization
  • Manages raw material consumption, develops plans to maintain production needs, identifies and addresses any issues to ensure on-time delivery
  • Establishes and implements best practices related to production scheduling, inventory management, warehouse management and material control. Shares findings and results with other Amcor facilities.
  • Manages expediting and lead-time reduction activities to achieve customer expectations and support industry best-in-class production lead times
  • Communicates potential product shortfalls to Corporate Supply Chain team and assists in resolving shortages to meet customer demands
  • Works closely with the Corporate Supply Chain team to optimized capacity and inventory plans
  • Oversees inventory, purchasing and reconciliation of raw materials including resin, preforms, pallets, tier sheets, and top frames ensuring adherence to procurement contracts
  • Purchases other materials and services from outside contractors, such as forklift maintenance
  • Resolves issues with suppliers of raw material as well as other materials and services
  • Accountable for raw and finish goods material variances.
  • Oversee services from outside contractors, such as forklift maintenance
  • Using available data, directs performance improvements in numerous areas of plant performance including transportation costs, material handling, labor utilization, local supplier performance. Works with appropriate corporate teams to ensure compliance and successful project implementations.
  • Exercises significant decision making in carrying out these responsibilities, and works with a great deal of autonomy
  • Assures all plant safety and accident prevention policies are adhered to, including maintaining cleanliness in the warehouse area, maintaining a safe work environment and safe work practices.
  • Manages team of direct reports and is responsible for employee selection, development, mentoring, and performance management. Responsible for overall talent management and employee engagement; cultivates an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance; addresses employee relations issues
  • Analysis production performance and make recommendations to improve and optimize throughput to internal plant leadership team

What We Want From You

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or equivalent in a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in supply chain, production planning, and materials management in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic injection, blow molding or packaging
  • Functional certification, such as APICS, CSCMP or comparable, is preferred
  • Proficient SAP and Microsoft Office experience
  • Knowledge and previous use of technology tools that enable production scheduling and reporting
  • Demonstrated results in maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods through significant knowledge of raw materials, production processes, costs, and other techniques
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing quality customer service
  • Knowledge of methods for moving materials by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain professional during stressful interactions with internal and external customers
