About the Role

The Supply Chain Management – Subcontract Administrator II is responsible for managing supplier relationships, administering purchase orders and subcontracts, and supporting strategic procurement activities for aerospace programs. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier performance, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery while supporting mission-critical operations within a dynamic supply chain environment.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Subcontract Administration
    • Administer purchase orders and subcontracts for goods and services.
    • Develop and execute acquisition and procurement strategies.
    • Manage the complete subcontract lifecycle from award through closeout.
    • Ensure timely procurement activities that support program objectives.
    • Monitor supplier deliverables and contractual obligations.
    • Maintain procurement documentation and contract records.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers.
    • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
    • Resolve supplier shortages, delays, and performance issues.
    • Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve cost-effective solutions.
    • Support supplier risk mitigation and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Travel to supplier locations as required to support business objectives.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures.
    • Interpret and apply Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements.
    • Maintain compliance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements.
    • Identify procurement risks, issues, and opportunities.
    • Support contract audits and compliance reviews.
    • Promote ethical procurement practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Supply Chain Analysis & Collaboration
    • Compile, analyze, and interpret procurement and supply chain data.
    • Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, and operations teams.
    • Support strategic sourcing and supply chain planning initiatives.
    • Aid in resolving cross-functional supply chain challenges.
    • Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
    • Support business objectives through effective supplier management.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Utilize ERP and procurement systems to manage purchasing activities.
    • Prioritize multiple procurement activities while meeting deadlines.
    • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting.
    • Demonstrate sound business judgment and decision-making.
    • Apply project and program management principles to procurement activities.
    • Contribute to continuous professional development within supply chain operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Familiarity with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP/procurement systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Experience supporting supplier negotiations and subcontract administration.

Preferred Skills

  • Procurement experience within the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Experience with project or program management.
  • Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay processes.
  • Experience managing supplier performance and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with subcontract management best practices.
