Supply Chain Management - Operations Support Specialist
About the Role
As an Operations Support Specialist, you will report to the Operations Strategy Manager to conduct Small Business Program and Procurement Training Program activities for the SLAC organization and various stakeholders across SLAC Directorates. You will be a primary contributor and facilitator in the development and execution of the small business and training program within the supply chain management group. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, program managers, and legal.
Responsibilities
- Independently implement, administer, and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function, or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve program goals.
- Support the development and execution of the small business program, including maintaining the prospective small business supplier database and assisting in small business outreach (communications, event planning, and promotion).
- Stay informed about opportunities to communicate with prospective suppliers to promote healthy competition and enhance supplier diversity.
- Engage suppliers to connect small businesses with SLAC stakeholders, ensuring compliance with designated goals.
- Identify training needs for procurement specialists and users (e.g., program managers, procurement gatekeepers) by analyzing compliance reviews and scorecard results to suggest training improvements.
- Develop, update, and refine comprehensive training materials, incorporating feedback mechanisms post-training.
- Evaluate and integrate artificial intelligence tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in supply chain management, including training and other operational areas.
- Collect and analyze data, create reports, review trends, and formulate recommendations to achieve program goals.
- Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise, and implement procedures for the program or function.
- Serve as the key contact and subject matter expert for the program or function within the department, representing it to internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize and participate in outreach activities, including developing communications, planning, and promoting events or conferences.
- May assist in budget development, monitor expenditures, and provide recommendations for forecasting.
- May direct or supervise staff for various tasks and assignments.
- Manage the updating and creation of controlled procurement forms to align with procurement policies and procedures.
- Maintain the accuracy and relevance of procurement and supply chain management internet and intranet web pages, including SharePoint sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and multitask.
- Experience in program administration, particularly in small business initiatives or procurement processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Experience developing and facilitating training programs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment independently in decision-making.
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant subject matter knowledge.
- Ability to direct the work of others, where supervision is required.
- Familiarity with AI tools and their applications in operational improvement is a plus.

Pay
The expected pay range for this position is $100,023 - $124,516 per annum. Pay is determined based on factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate qualifications, departmental budget, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable roles.
