Supply Chain Management - Operations Support Specialist
About the role
As an Operations Support Specialist, you will report to the Operations Strategy Manager to conduct Small Business Program and Procurement Training Program activities for the SLAC organization and various stakeholders across the SLAC Directorates. You will be a primary contributor and facilitator in the development and execution of the small business and training program within the supply chain management group. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team including procurement, program managers, and legal.
Responsibilities
- Independently implement, administer, and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function, or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve program goals.
- Implement, administer, and support the development and execution of the small business program, including maintaining the prospective small business supplier database/list.
- Learn and observe criteria for evaluating small business partners; assist in small business outreach by developing communications, planning, and promoting outreach events and/or conferences aimed at small business engagement.
- Stay informed about upcoming opportunities to communicate with prospective suppliers to promote healthy competition and enhance supplier diversity.
- Engage suppliers to connect small businesses with SLAC stakeholders, enhancing SLAC compliance with designated goals.
- Identify training needs of procurement specialists and users (e.g., program managers, procurement gatekeepers) by analyzing compliance reviews and scorecard results to suggest training improvements.
- Develop and update comprehensive training materials as requested; implement feedback mechanisms post-training and continuously refine materials.
- Evaluate and integrate artificial intelligence tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in supply chain management, including training and other operational areas.
- Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve program goals.
- Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise, and implement procedures for the program or function.
- Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit, or school; commit resources and provide information and/or training.
- Represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
- Organize and/or participate in outreach activities, including developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.
- May participate in budget development, monitor and approve expenditures, perform limited forecasting, and provide budget recommendations.
- May direct and supervise staff to perform various tasks and assignments.
- Manage the updating and creation of controlled procurement forms, ensuring alignment with procurement policy and procedures.
- Maintain the accuracy and relevance of procurement/supply chain management internet and intranet web pages, including SharePoint site(s).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and multitask.
- Experience in program administration, particularly in small business initiatives or procurement processes.
- Excellent organizational skills.

Pay
The expected pay range for this position is $100,023 - $124,516 per annum. Pay is determined based on factors such as scope and responsibilities, qualifications, departmental budget, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
