Inventory Management

Performs physical inventories and daily cycle counts accurately.

Troubleshoots inventory discrepancies physically and in ERP system (Lawson).

Can trace transaction in ERP system if inventory is incorrect.

Determines reason for inventory discrepancies.

Makes inventory adjustments in the system.

Facilitates the movement of needed supplies between off-site locations with the logistics team.

Assists management audits of Standard Work and training of staff.

Restocking

Collaborates with Purchasing regarding the re-supply of stocked materials by issuing suggested orders based on ERP system recommended re-order levels.

Communicates with Purchasing and vendors to expedite supplies as needed.

Rotates stock using FIFO methodology.

Continuously monitors stock levels and backorders to assure adequate supply quantities are available to prevent supply stock outs.

System Functions

Works with Supply Chain personnel on new items being added to inventory stock.

Insures correct Low Unit of Measure (LUOM), reorder points based upon department inventory policy and information needed to successfully activate the item.

Coordinates with Purchasing to determine the appropriate timing on vendor inventory buildup and hospital needs.

Aids in making plans to accommodate backorders and recalls.

Process Improvements

Places inventory in locations conducive to efficient operations.

Identifies back stock and marks prime picking location with information.

Moves materials as required from back stock locations into picking locations.

Manages supply flow to optimal velocity and minimizes excess/obsolete inventory.

Identifies process improvement and standardization opportunities within Supply Chain activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience Required: At least 1-3 years of Inventory management-related.
  • Experience Preferred: Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Education Required: High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school, is required.
  • Education Preferred: Associates Degree preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer).
  • Ability to navigate and manage multiple information systems including ERP system (Lawson), and other databases (Omnicell).
