About the role
The Supply Chain Coordinator supports the Linen Department within Material Services. The primary responsibility is to provide functional and administrative supervision of 1st and 2nd shift Linens. Duties include coordinating the delivery of clean and soiled linens, ensuring appropriate stocking, physically receiving, storing, and distributing linens, updating inventory, interacting with UI Laundry, and managing budget and staffing.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of clean and soiled linens
- Ensure all areas are stocked appropriately
- Physically receive, store, and distribute linens
- Operate hand-controlled material handling equipment
- Update inventory and receipt transactions within PeopleSoft
- Replenish linen cabinets and update inventory balances
- Respond to questions and concerns of clinic customers
- Resolve customer concerns
- Communicate consistently with customers, staff, and Material Services leadership
- Train new staff members and ensure they follow policies and procedures
- Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching, and counseling to staff
- Oversee inventory controls
- Determine reorder amounts
- Manage merchandise assortment and new production information
- Analyze usage trends and make recommendations
- Partner with UI Laundry to receive adequate amounts of linens
- Determine staffing needs and work with staff to cover vacation/leave
- Manage budget when identifying inventory discrepancies
- Locate missing product and make adjustments in electronic inventory system
- Review usage reports, track product stock-outs, and make par-level recommendations
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience within supply management receiving, warehousing, and/or distribution
- One year of experience applying procedures, methods, and techniques for receiving, storing, and distributing products
- One year of experience developing and using tools, techniques, and practices for updating and maintaining inventory and distribution functions within PeopleSoft or similar systems
- At least one year of supervisory experience
- Ability to form and manage effective teams
- Knowledge of and ability to plan, mobilize, and distribute resources to fulfill business objectives and plans
Qualifications
