Job Summary

The Supply Chain Analyst / Planner–Buyer supports defense and aerospace programs by performing material planning, procurement, and supply chain analytics to ensure program execution and regulatory compliance.

About the Role

This role ensures timely material availability, adherence to FAR/DFARS and ITAR requirements, and strong supplier performance to support mission critical production and sustainment activities.

Responsibilities

  • Data & Reporting:
    • Support senior planners, program managers, and procurement teams by gathering, organizing, and maintaining supply chain and planning data (MRP outputs, lead times, shortages, inventory status, supplier OTD, etc.).
    • Aid in the creation and maintenance of dashboards and KPIs for defense programs, ensuring accurate data feeds for schedule adherence, forecast performance, material readiness, and supplier health metrics.
    • Prepare summary reports and data extracts for leadership review, IPT meetings, and material readiness discussions.
    • Provide required documentation and data for DCMA/DCAA audits and internal reviews.
    • Maintain data accuracy across ERP/MRP systems and help identify discrepancies, ensuring reliable information flow for planning and procurement decisions.
    • Leverage AI-based business tools to streamline data analysis, support continuous improvement initiatives, and provide actionable insights across purchasing, planning, logistics, and operations.
  • Planning & Material Management:
    • Execute material planning activities using MRP/ERP systems, including managing planned orders, purchase requisitions, and demand signals.
    • Support demand forecasting and capacity-aligned planning for government programs, including long-lead and critical path materials.
    • Maintain accurate planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, lot sizes) to optimize material flow and inventory health.
  • Procurement & Compliance:
    • Execute compliant procurement actions in alignment with FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and flow-down requirements.
    • Source suppliers, obtain competitive quotes, and support cost/price analysis for defense procurements.
    • Manage purchase orders, track supplier performance, and expedite critical materials to support schedule adherence.
    • Support DD254 and DD250 compliance for classified, controlled, or government-furnished materials.
  • Logistics & Supplier Coordination:
    • Track supplier delivery schedules, identify risks, and coordinate recovery or corrective action plans.
    • Work with logistics teams to optimize transportation costs while ensuring hazardous and regulated material compliance.
    • Support supplier performance management initiatives, including OTD improvement, quality actions, and risk mitigation.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify supply chain inefficiencies across planning, procurement, and logistics workflows.
    • Support cost-reduction initiatives, supplier negotiations, and long-term strategic agreements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in supply chain, planning, or procurement, preferably in defense/aerospace.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR, DD254, and DD250 requirements.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Visibility, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar tools).
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM/CSCP) is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with program stakeholders.

Pay

$65,000 - $85,000 annually
