What You’ll Do
- Transportation & Logistics (50%):
- Plan and optimize inbound and outbound shipments across parcel, LTL, air, and ocean transportation modes.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve exceptions with carriers, distribution centers, labs, and customer service teams.
- Assist with import and export compliance, including customs documentation and processes.
- Support carrier sourcing initiatives, RFP analysis, and transportation performance measurement.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on service, cost, and efficiency.
- Procurement & Supplier Management (40%):
- Prepare and submit purchase requisitions in accordance with company policies.
- Learn and operate the company’s procurement system, including basic system maintenance.
- Create and manage purchase orders, including expediting, updating, or closing orders as required.
- Investigate and resolve open or aging purchase orders.
- Resolve pricing, quantity, or delivery discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
- Support supplier relationship management, audits, catalog maintenance, and data accuracy.
- Maintain organized documentation and procurement records.
- Analytics & Continuous Improvement (10%):
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports for vendor performance, purchasing spend, and procurement accuracy.
- Update and distribute monthly reporting to key stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations.
- Strong interest in transportation, procurement, or global supply chains.
- Attention to detail, strong learning mindset, and comfort with data and Excel.
- Experience with transportation or logistics operations (parcel, LTL, air, ocean, 3PLs), preferred.
- Experience with procurement or purchasing processes, preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP, TMS, or procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, NetSuite), preferred.
- Experience building reports or KPIs and working cross-functionally, preferred.
