This role is a contract assignment through Amazon’s approved 3rd party Direct Source provider and is not a full-time employment opportunity with Amazon.

About the Role

The Electronics Commodity Analyst provides analytical, operational, and coordination support to the Senior Global Commodity Management (GCM) Electronics team within Amazon Robotics Supply Chain. This role serves as the data and process backbone for global commodity managers responsible for vision systems, compute and semiconductors, and supporting passive electronic components across multiple robotics programs.

The analyst is responsible for maintaining supplier performance visibility, consolidating and analyzing procurement spend, supporting supplier relationship management processes, and providing market intelligence to inform sourcing decisions. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, comfort working across multiple data systems, and the ability to translate raw data into actionable insights for senior procurement leaders to strategically advance supplier relationships, negotiate from strength, and drive long-term cost and risk optimization.

This position operates in direct support of GCMs and interacts cross-functionally with engineering, program management, procurement, buyers, and planning teams. The analyst must exercise sound judgment in prioritizing work, flagging risks, and maintaining data integrity across all commodity areas without direct supervision of every task.

Commodity Scope

The analyst(s) will support commodity management work across three primary areas reflecting the current team portfolio, including but not limited to:

  • Semiconductors
  • PCB, TIM, FET, IMU, Antennas
  • Cameras, Image Sensors, Optics, Lenses, LIDAR, Modules, Memory
  • Passive Components, Compute and Machine Vision

Knowledge & Domain Expertise

Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Supplier performance measurement frameworks, scorecard methodologies, and governance models
  • Spend analysis techniques including normalization, variance analysis, and total cost of ownership
  • RFQ processes, bid analysis, and should-cost modeling fundamentals
  • Supply chain risk identification, escalation pathways, and corrective action tracking

Electronics & Semiconductor Markets

  • General understanding of electronics component categories: vision systems, compute/semiconductor, and passive/active components
  • Awareness of market dynamics affecting electronics procurement: fab capacity, lead time volatility, geopolitical supply risks, and technology lifecycle considerations
  • Familiarity with supplier landscapes across cameras, sensors, processors, memory, and PCB fabrication

Systems & Tools

  • ERP and procurement platforms (Oracle EBS, Coupa, SWAN)
  • Data visualization and reporting tools (Excel dashboards, Power BI, Tableau)
  • SharePoint and collaboration tools for documentation and process libraries
  • BOM management systems and component specification databases

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Understanding of how procurement interfaces with engineering, program management, and field operations in a robotics or manufacturing environment
  • Awareness of NPI processes and how commodity decisions impact program timelines
  • Ability to communicate procurement data and risk assessments to non-procurement stakeholders in a clear, actionable format
